Children under care:38 persons
Elderly under care:17 persons

In a quiet corner of Kuala Lumpur, the light in my home has never gone out. It’s not a streetlight — it’s the warm kitchen light the children know best. For thirty years, I’ve been keeping that light on, and caring for the children who once lost their way.

My name is Uncle Tan.

I’m not a public figure or a philanthropist— just someone who couldn’t bear to see a child hungry or alone. In 1994, I took in the first child who needed help. From that moment on, more children came, and I welcomed them into my home one by one.

As the years passed, the children grew up, learned responsibility, and chose to give back. In 2021, under my guidance, seven of these young people foundedJing Sun Welfare Society, giving this simple act of care a more structured and lasting path.

I often say: an orphan is not truly an orphan — they’re just a child who’s temporarily lost their way.I want them to eat well, study well, smile again, and relearn what it feels like to be loved — and eventually, to love others too.— and eventually, to love others too.

Today, Jing Sun Welfare Society is one of the children’s homes in Kuala Lumpur.Through daily care and education, we make community work part of everyday life.Over the past three decades, nearly a hundred children have grown up here and found a new beginning.

All of this comes from one simple belief:They are not “extra” children. If they can live better than the generation before them, that is already a kind of success..
